Reasons to Get a Skin Biopsy at Apex Health Liverpool
Choosing Apex Health Liverpool for a skin biopsy means opting for a service that prioritises patient care through experienced professionals, collaborative approaches, and efficient processes. With significantly reduced waiting times compared to the NHS, patients can access the care they need without the prolonged delays.
Experienced GPs and Doctor-Led Services
Apex Health Liverpool boasts a team of experienced General Practitioners (GPs) who are dedicated to providing high-quality care. The doctor-led approach ensures that patients receive expert evaluations and personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.
Unique Collaboration with Local Consultants
Unlike many other services, Apex Health Liverpool has established a unique collaboration with local dermatology consultants at the University Royal Liverpool Hospital. This partnership enhances the quality of care provided, allowing for a more comprehensive evaluation and treatment strategy. Patients benefit from the combined expertise of GPs and specialists, ensuring that they receive the best possible outcomes, quickly and cost effectively.
Quick Access to Results
One of the significant advantages of choosing Apex Health Liverpool for a skin biopsy is the rapid access to results. Current NHS wait times for dermatology appointments can exceed 18 months, causing unnecessary delays in diagnosis and treatment. At Apex Health, patients can expect much quicker turnaround times for results, enabling timely interventions and peace of mind.
How does it work?
You will be seen and assessed by one of our GPs in the initial consultation. Should we decide to go ahead with a skin biopsy, the procedure can usually be carried out in the same appointment. The samples are then directly taken to the Royal Hospital and priority reviewed by our Consultant Histopathology colleagues. Results are sent to the Apex Health Liverpool GPs within 7-10 days, which is significantly quicker than NHS lab turnaround times.
You could be in receipt of a gold-standard tissue diagnosis within a week, compared to the current routine waiting time of 18 months+ in overstretched NHS clinics.
